Epidemiology and Clinical Profile of Behcet’s Disease in a Sub-Saharan Country: About Five Observations

Behçet’s disease (BD) is a multi-systemic vasculitis characterized by triad made up of oral aphthosis, genital aphthosis and uveitis which may or not be associated with visceral involvement. Other times described in the ancient silk road, BD increasingly found countries south Sahara mixing populations. Our objective was to describe epidemiology clinical characteristics an African country. Methodology: This five-year retrospective study internal medicine department Donka National Hospital. We used international criteria finding BD. Urinary dipstick use for kidney disease. Result: During period, five cases were collected. The average age 35 years old. male sex more represented 3 out 5 cases. most common manifestation all patients (100%), followed 4 (80%). other manifestations observed (60%), joint such as arthralgia (60%) neurological chronic headache one case (20%). HLA-B51 two pattergic test done came back positive (100%). received colchicine corticosteroid therapy. Two lost sight. deplored death probably neuro-Behçet table before rebellious headaches. Conclusion: that must evoked managed quickly tropical environment, especially since prognosis, vital functional prognosis can engaged.
